How do you set up Pause Dialing for Voicemail so that the Pin is automatically dialed? I haven't had to dial the password to retrieve my voicemail in so long - I wasn't sure I even remembered what it was upon accessing my voicemail for the 1st time with my new Droid. I also used this feature heavily for my business contacts that had extensions #'s. Is this available on the Droid?

There are 2 types of auto-pauses on the Droid.

  1. Wait - The "Wait" feature asks for confirmation via a pop up window before sending the next set of #'s after having dialed the initial phone #. Just click yes to send those digits.

  2. Pause - Inserting a pause will automatically send the next set of numbers after three seconds for each pause inserted. Motorola suggests - To work with some phone systems, 2-3 pauses may be required.

To Add a Pause or Wait to a Voicemail Number:

From Home > Press Menu > Click Settings > Then Call Settings > Choose Voicemail Settings >

Touch the field with the Voicemail # (a virtual keypad will appear).

DO NOT REMOVE THE *86

On the virtual keypad, Tap the: * # ( Key , which is to the Left of the zero, in order to insert a pause or wait > Touch Pause or Wait > Tap the 123 key to go back to the numeric keypad and enter the additional numbers as needed.

Click Done, then OK when complete

To add a Pause From your Contacts list =

  • Locate the existing contact you would like to add a pause/wait too.
  • Click to choose that Contact > Tap Menu > Choose Edit Contact
  • Click / Touch the box with the # you want to add the pause & extra digits >
  • A Virtual keypad will appear below the #.

On the virtual keypad, Tap the: * # ( Key , which is to the Left of the zero, in order to insert a pause or wait > Touch Pause or Wait > Tap the 123 key to go back to the numeric keypad and enter the additional numbers as needed.

Click Done, then OK when complete

Adding a Pause to a new # being dialed from the Phone's Keypad

After Dialing the # from the phones keypad > Press Menu> Then either Add Pause or Add Wait > Continue to Add the extra #'s (i.e. extension) > Click "Green Phone" to dial #
