I remember on the startup of the g1, it gave you the opportunity to calibrate the screen. where is this option on the cliq? I think mine needs it, BAD…

It seems that Android (and the * excuse my language * iPhone) don't need calibration. Have a look at the Android Google Group and you'll see some responses from Diane Hackborn who works one the Android team.

And if you want to change it, maybe you could shout up over there?

I haven't seen any way to calibrate the screen on the G1 or any other Android phone.

You can use the codes on this page for the LCD Test and Touch Screen Test to get a better idea of what is happening when you touch the screen:
