With my Omnia or any WM phone I could beam a contact info to another persons phone that also had that infrared hardware. The omnia didn't have the infrared but I could do it with bluetooth. I can't find a way to share contacts with another phone using my Droid. ie I have myself as a contact with all my numbers, address, email, etc. and it is a nice feature to just beam my contact info to anyone who would like it. I used to do it all the time.

Another app that could be useful to you - Androbex. You can send contacts to other devices via bluetooth. Unfortunately you can't receive contacts with it, and therefore can't send them to other Android phones running this app. |

The biggest problem I see with this is that you are limited to only being able to do this when the other person has the same type of hardware/app/etc. So make sure you have some spare business cards ready. :) I'd recommend the app Bump. I especially like the fact that it is now cross iPhone/Android phone. Perhaps the developer will expand to more OSes in the future? Also: when you view any Contact on your droid, hit the menu button and then Share to bring up some options like emailing the contact's info or using the barcode scanner. |

I'm not sure how you can do this John, I don't know about Bluetooth (although I've seen a Bluetooth File Transfer programme in the market by Medieval Software, I'm not sure if that'd work.) But you can share contacts using the QR Code (if you're sharing with another Android/iPhone user) But there's also a couple of really great little apps, one called Bump and the other's Hoccer. Hope one of those helps! Ethan |
